A New Way To Cook and Hydrate!

A dash of this is, a sprinkle of that, and a drop of essential oil for the perfect dish!

A new way to cook and hydrate.  Essential oils are always fresh and are a great alternative to traditional dried herbs.

Do you have a favorite soup recipe that could use a face lift?  Or maybe a salsa recipe that could use a little extra kick? It is so easy to add essential oils to soup recipes, homemade salsa, sauces for pasta and meats, dips like humus or chip dip and even baking.

Typically, one drop of doTERRA essential oil is equivalent to two teaspoons of dried herbs.  Dip a toothpick into the bottle and stir in your ingredients until you reach the desired amount of taste. Always use a toothpick method when cooking with potent essential oils such as Cassia, Cinnamon, Clove, Cumin, Oregano and Thyme.

By adding oils to your food and drinks, you are notably providing more flavor, but you can simultaneously enjoy the internal benefits of a particular oil.  Using essential oils when cooking provides a unique way to experience the benefits of essential oils.

Tips for Cooking with Oils

The great thing about using doTERRA essential oils as a flavoring agent is that you can rest easy knowing you are putting safe, natural ingredients into your food.

Avoid using plastic cookware as essential oils can potentially ruin certain kinds of plastic and leach into your food. Use glass, ceramic or stainless steel.

It is okay to add a little extra oil when using essential oils for baked good to ensure that some of the flavor remains after the baking process.   I love adding Peppermint to brownies!

Staying Hydrated All Year Long!

Do you drink enough water? I know it can be tough, but let's make it taste even better with doTERRA essential oils.

When you stay hydrated it has a positive impact on your digestion, your metabolism, your skin and so much more!!

The easiest way to stay hydrated is to drink more water!  Yes, I know, this may not be the first time you've heard this, and it may be easier said than done.  Don't worry, I got you!

If you struggle with drinking enough water, start small.  For example, consider swapping out soda or a sugary drink for water.  If you can't cut them out completely, do your best to drink a full glass of water before turning to the sweet stuff.  Add a drop of your favorite essential oil for a flavorful twist.

I love adding a drop of Spearmint with a drop of Lime in 4 ounces of water.  What is your favorite combination?

Here are Some Ideas That Can Help You Drink More Water:

Morning
Start your day with a glass of water with one drop of lemon essential oil.  As always, make sure to use a glass, ceramic or stainless container.

Water On the Go;
Always take water with you when you are leaving the house. Fill your water bottle and add one drop of essential oil to every four ounces of water.  Plus, you won't be adding a plastic water bottle to the landfill!  Win-win!!

Invest in Reusable Straws:
If you are drinking through a straw, you are likely to drink faster and will end up drinking more water throughout the day.

Six Oils to Add to Water:

Lemon:  Internal use naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion.

Lavender:  Take internally to reduce anxious feelings.

Lime: Supports healthy immune function when used internally.

Tangerine: Supports healthy digestion, metabolism and a healthy immune system.

Spearmint: Promotes digestion and helps reduce occasional stomach upset when used internally.

Grapefruit: Supports a healthy metabolism.

doTERRA essential oils can be used internally.  When ingested, essential oils directly enter the blood stream via the gastrointestinal tract, where they are transported throughout the rest of the body. Essential oils are readily transported to all organs of the body, including the brain.

Follow label recommendations and other professional guidelines for dosage when using essential oils internally.
